About this Year 5 the living world quiz
This free Year 5 science quiz explores the Living World strand of the New Zealand Curriculum using native plants and animals. Students sort living and non-living things, describe what plants need to make food, order the life cycle of a monarch butterfly, identify producers, consumers and decomposers in food chains, and explain how the kiwi is adapted to find food at night. Students also group animals such as the tuatara, kererū and wētā, and predict what happens when one part of a food web changes.
