About this Year 5 naplan-style reading practice quiz

This Year 5 reading practice set is original Success Tutoring material written in the style of NAPLAN. It is not official ACARA material and is not predictive of NAPLAN results. Students read two original texts β€” a story about a nervous speaker at a school assembly and a persuasive piece arguing that every school needs a vegetable garden. The ten questions practise locating details, inferring feelings, identifying a theme, recognising a writer's opinion and counter-argument, and understanding wordplay. Each answer is explained with evidence from the text, so students learn how good readers justify their thinking.
